"Continuing a tradition of excellence as one of the premiere high school orchestras in Michigan"
All senior orchestra students are honored with a Senior Plaque. Seniors play a critical role in the leadership of the Orchestra and setting a positive example for the underclassmen to follow. Seniors are the role models for the incoming freshmen. Each year the seniors set the bar for excellence, which ultimately determines the program’s level of achievement and success for the year, and the legacy that will be passed on to future Orchestra members.
Senior Specialty Awards
Three (3) Specialty Awards are awarded annually to deserving senior orchestra students in recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedication to the Grand Haven High School Orchestra Program. Recipients demonstrate enthusiasm and a commitment to music and music education. Music students receiving these awards possess outstanding music ability, strong citizenship characteristics, and must be an exemplary student in all aspects of school life. The National School Orchestra Award is a standard NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ACCOMPLISHMENT.
In addition to this nationally recognized award, the Director’s Award and the Outstanding Senior Award are special recognition awards granted by the Grand Haven High School Orchestra Program.Recipients of the Outstanding Senior Award, the Director’s Award, and the National School Orchestra Award, will have their names engraved on a plaque with all the past years' recipients and receive an award of either a pin, statuette, or a plaque as a small token of appreciation of their accomplishments.
